Tanat Valley Light Railway World War Two Event
It is 1944 and the Tanat Valley Railway is preparing for D-Day. The site is a hive of activity with Allied Forces training on our Nantmawr site in the woodlands, marsh and meadows making extensive use of the standard gauge, narrow gauge and monorails systems on site. The lime kilns are being used for abseiling. Civilians are providing much needed food and rations. A religious service and parade will take place on the Sunday morning. We are also holding German prisoners of war on site. An attempt to rescue them will be made by German Paratroopers reenactors. Plenty of trade and food stalls, more welcome. A festival of wartime music as well.
