Pant WI report for December 2025

Various items of business including the introduction of new officers and details of the annual meal at The Sweeney in January were discussed and shared with members at the December meeting of Pant WI. The singing of Jerusalem was to a ukelele accompaniment.

The speaker for the evening was then introduced, and Gabriella La Foley entertained us to a very clever rendition of some favourite tunes accompanied by her ukelele and many hilarious anecdotes and narratives. She took us on a very imaginative tour of the Northern Hemisphere and included her Spotted Dick song, her swimming costume saga and her version of the Williams Tell Overture. There was a great deal of laughter and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

She claimed that a performer is only as good as the audience and thanked us for making her brilliant. We definitely didn’t argue with that!

She was thanked by ‘Saint’ Rosemary, who had put the country back on its feet. It certainly turned out nice again.

Gabriella then judged the competition for a table decoration which was won by Linda E, with Esther second and Margaret W third.

The evening was rounded off by a very plentiful and delicious shared supper provided by members.

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday 8th January 2026 at 7:15 p.m. at Pant Memorial Institute.

We always welcome new members or anyone interested in coming along and finding out more – please just turn up or contact us at pantwi1931@gmail.com.
