Derwen College Sponsored Walk @ Derwen College

Walkers and fun runners are invited to join Derwen College’s annual 10km sponsored walk through picturesque Gobowen countryside this Mother’s Day. The event raises money for Derwen College and everyone taking part will receive complimentary home-made soup, and a hot drink on finishing. Any mums walking or running will be rewarded with a free gift.

Derwen College’s Orangery Restaurant and Garden Cafe will also be open, serving breakfasts and Sunday lunches to hungry runners and walkers.

Please contact the College to register to walk or run, volunteer as a marshal or to sponsor a student.

Mothering Sunday Boat Trips at Llanymymech Wharf @ Llanymynech Wharf Visitor Centre

The boat trips take about half an hour along this short, but beautiful stretch of the Montgomery Canal. Refreshments, gifts and books are available in the Centre.

Pant Babies and Toddlers @ Pant Memorial Hall

FBabies and Toddlers Paintingun weekly session of arts, crafts, play and sing alongs – featuring a toy collection that would be the envy of many professional nurseries!

Contact the group via a Facebook search, new members always welcome. They meet at the hall every Thursday morning during term times – in school holidays venues vary so ask for info.

Llanymynech Wharf Coffee Morning @ St Agatha's Church Hall

Llanymynech Wharf Visitor Centre is holding a Coffee Morning in St Agatha’s Church Hall. The Coffee Morning will include coffee/tea and cake, and will show the new Canal & River Trust 20 minute film ‘Life on the Monty’ at least twice during the morning. Sylvia Edwards from CRT will be on hand to answer questions about current and future developments on the canal.
