Locals at Pant village pub the Cross Guns Inn have raised £1187.87 for national charity, Guide Dogs.

The money has been collected following regular pub quizzes at the pub as well as collections.

Last week’s pub quiz was followed by a presentation to the pub’s licensee Alison of a certificate highlighting the funds raised over the past few months.

Local funraiser Lin Stapley and her guide dog Woody were at the pub to hand Alison the certificate which records the pub’s contribution to the charity.

Lin is one of 13,000 volunteers who organise events and offer talks to groups about the work of Guide Dogs.

The regular pub quizzes at the Cross Guns take place monthly on a Friday evening with the next two being on 20th February and 27th March. More details are updated in the What’s On section of Pant Today.

If you would like to find out more about how you can help raise funds to support the provision of guide dogs, please visit the local pages of the Guide Dogs’ website.
