Repair Cafe Oswestry & Borders

Do you have items that are damaged or broken but you don’t want to throw away or recycle?

Then perhaps Repair Cafe Oswestry & Borders can help you bring your item back to life.

Part of Repair Cafe Wales – a not-for-profit organisation that encourages communities to work towards a more Circular Economy – Repair Cafe Oswestry & Borders offers repair events locally.

By creating a culture of repair and re-use, they hope to directly address the ever-growing emergency of unsustainable growth in landfill and waste.

Locally, there are events held in Oswestry and Llanfyllin each month where clothing, textiles, electrical appliances, bikes, furniture can be booked in for repair. The service is free although donations are very welcome.

They also host the Midweek Mend every Wednesday between 11 am and 2 pm (updated time) at 36 Bailey Street in Oswestry at the Climate Action Hub. This is a drop in service – first come, first served. Again repairs of textiles, small electrical items and mechanical items are free but a donation will help to maintain the service.

Volunteers at both events encourage you to pick up new skills on how to maintain and repair items and light refreshments are available while you wait.
