Come Along to Pant Autumn Bazaar!

Pant Memorial Hall, Pant, Shropshire

Pant Memorial Hall will host the Pant Autumn Bazaar

Pant is holding its first Autumn Bazaar on 3 October and everyone is welcome!

The Bazaar is being held between 2pm and 5pm in Pant Memorial Hall, for locals and visitors alike to enjoy stalls, refreshments and entertainment provided by villagers and local organisations. There will be everything from handicrafts and local produce to competitions and children’s games. The funds raised from the teas, coffees and cakes, will go towards the upkeep of the Memorial Hall, which is a registered charity and a valuable asset for the community.

Plans for the event are now well underway,  but there is still the opportunity for more people to get involved in helping to make this a great day out for all.

Beryl Phillips, Secretary of Pant Memorial Institute, said: “We are holding the first Pant Autumn Bazaar on the first Saturday in October and we have already had support from a number of other community groups and businesses.“We still have limited space for other groups which might like to come along in October such as charities and local businesses that could promote their products. We would especially like to see local craftspeople contact us.”

Pant used to hold an annual carnival, but as numbers dwindled this was merged with a carnival in Llanymynech. However as both villages are situated on the A483, eventually the procession was stopped from travelling down the road. Now, almost 30 years later, local people are resurrecting the idea of an event to bring the village together, albeit without causing congestion on the A483.

If the first Pant Autumn Bazaar is successful, residents are hoping to make it a regular event to help foster the community spirit of Pant and the surrounding area.
