Could you be the future of the Cross Guns?

As we start 2025, the Cross Guns Inn in Pant is still closed and looking for new tenants to take it over.

Admiral Taverns who own the premises is actively looking for new people to take the pub over to serve the community of Pant and visitors. Do you know someone who would make an ideal licensee?

A roaring fire in the hearth and Christmas decorations at the Cross Guns a few years ago.

A spokesperson at Admiral Taverns said: “We are currently recruiting for a passionate new licensee to take over this fantastic community pub to ensure it can reopen as soon as possible and remain at the heart of Pant. For anyone interested, please give us a call on 01244 321 171.”

The pub has had a number of licensees over the past decade or so and villagers are hoping the next licensee can reopen the pub as the heart of the community.

The Cross Guns has been listed as an asset of community value for almost 10 years and this gives locals in the area advance warning of any planned developments to a pub, especially change of use, which could result in the pub no longer being a public house.

According to research by CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, 84% of people believe that a pub is as essential to community life as a shop or post office. Luckily, Pant has all of these assets.

Once the pub has reopened and is up and running once more, it is incumbant on the residents of Pant to support the pub regularly if they wish to make it a success for the future.
