A fundraising event at Pant Memorial Hall has raised more than £500 for The Brain Tumour Charity.
Robyn Cumine organised the event to help raise awareness of a charity that she says many people don’t recognise as much as some other charities.
She explained: “We’ve had a very close family member affected by a brain tumour and this made us realise how little funding goes into the brain tumour charity . My father-in-law painted the cow and took it to the Oswestry show this year and seeing him standing with it so proudly made me want to do a bit more too.
“I think the event went very well, at first I was worried we would only get a few people despite me advertising as much as I could. But I was still happy with the outcome, I’ve also been asked if I would do another one next year which, of course, I’m happy to do.
“I want to thank everyone for the lovely donations to the raffle and tombola and also the amazing cakes and to all the stall holders.”
Robyn said that she wants to thanks everyone who came and helped volunteer. She added: “Being nearly six months pregnant I wouldn’t have coped without everyone helping.”
The event raised an amazing £550 with donations still coming in.
There is a collection bucket in the Colour Supplies store in Oswestry if anyone else wants to donate.
