More than £500 was raised at this year’s Pant Autumn Bazaar for the upkeep of Pant’s Memorial Hall.
The event saw villagers and visitors coming together in Pant Memorial Hall to raise over £500 at Pant Autumn Bazaar, which goes towards the upkeep of the hall. More than 150 visitors came along to visit stalls including Oswestry Country Markets, Sweeney Hall Hotel, local Pant beekeepers Chris and Jayne and Derwen College, as well as enjoying a number of fundraising activities put on by the Memorial Hall committee members.
2016 is the second year that Pant Autumn Bazaar has been held and it saw an increase in funds raised for the Memorial Hall.
The committee that run and maintain the hall for the benefit of the people of Pant and surrounding area are keen to put on new events for the village and keep the hall at the forefront of the local community.
The hall was set up by local Pant people after the First World War as a memorial to those who suffered in the war and the community organises events to bring people together. This includes an annual ‘Time of Remembrance’ – for those killed in the two World Wars and recent conflicts, which is open to all.
This year, the remembrance service will be held in the hall at 7pm on Friday 11th November 2016.
One of the key aims of the committee of Pant Memorial Hall is to ensure that the hall remains a focus for activity in the village and the funds raised by the Pant Autumn Bazaar go towards maintaining and upgrading the facilities for all.
Local businesses in Oswestry and further afield provided tombola prizes and Pant Memorial Hall wishes to thank all of them for their generosity.
