Community Carols

We all know singing together is a good community activity and everyone is being invited to join the Sofa Club carol singalong.

Being held in Pant Memorial Hall on Thursday, 18 December from 2 – 4 pm, the organisers say they are aiming for an event “like house-to-house carol singing, but in the warm!”

The Sofa Club that meets at the memorial hall is there to provide local people with an opportunity to socialise.

Sofa Club, meets in Pant Memorial Hall on the third Thursday of every month.

Sofa Club provides a time to meet in a quiet, safe space where those living with dementia can feel welcome. But organisers stress that it isn’t just restricted to those living with dementia, anyone can come along. Sometimes the group just chats or attempts craft work and for those who find attending a full-length service in the church too long, we have a short act of worship familiar to all, particularly at Festival times.

According to organisers of the carol singalong, people will be able to choose their favourite carol and then everyone joins in together.

After the singing is over, everyone is welcome to stay and enjoy seasonal refreshments.

Everyone welcome!
