Parish Council to remember former Chairman

The February meeting of Llanymynech & Pant Parish Council will begin with a tribute to mark the recent death of Mrs. Dilys Gaskill, former Oswestry Borough Councillor and Mayor, Shropshire Councillor, Parish Council Chairman and Councillor.

Members of the public are – as always – welcome at the event both to contribute to the Council’s discussions but also to join with others to mark Dilys’ life and contribution to the Parish.

For anyone interested in attending the meeting which will take place at Pant Memorial Hall on Thursday 23rd February 2023 at 7.15pm, the agenda is below.


FILMING AND RECORDING OF COUNCIL MEETINGS AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE DATAPROTETION ACT 2018 Any person present at a Council meeting may not orally report or comment about a Council meeting as it takes place but otherwise may; film photograph, or make an audio recording of a meeting; use any other means for enabling persons not present to see or hear proceedings at a meeting as it takes place or later; report or comment on the proceedings in writing during or after a meeting, or orally report or comment after the meeting.  Anyone making a recording for non-domestic purposes is advised to seek advice on their obligations to ensure any processing of personal information complies with the Data Protection Act

1         The meeting will mark the passing of the late Mrs. Dilys Gaskill, former Oswestry Borough Councillor and Mayor, Shropshire Councillor, Parish Council Chairman and Councillor.

         (c) PUBLIC PARTICIPATION. Members of the public are here given an opportunity to make representations to the Parish Council on items on the agenda or of public interest.

 3      DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST OR BIAS. In accordance with section 29 of the Localism Act 2011 Members are personally responsible for deciding whether or not they should disclose an interest where a matter arises which directly relates to them. They should not participate in any discussion nor vote on the matter and must not remain in the room unless granted a Dispensation to do so.

 4      CASUAL VACANCY.  To receive applications for co-option.

 5      PLANNING.  To comment on or note on planning applications.           

 6      HIGHWAY MATTERS.  Matters relating to the A483 and other roads in the parish.  

 7      ROCKWELL MEADOW. To approve the Management Plan quotation and to discuss the next steps.

8       MINUTES. to confirm Minutes of the meeting held on the 26.1.23


          a) To note the statement of expenditure v budget to January 2023 to be tabled.

          b) To authorise payments made as shown on list below totalling £2,123.27

          c) Report on Bank Mandate.

          d) To appoint Internal Auditor.

10      RIGHTS OF WAY.  Report of Meeting held on the 22.2.23 to form 3P’s Partnership.    


12      STREET LIGHTING. Report on lighting and to consider energy saving suggestion.

13      CORONATION. To consider plans for celebration

14      AREA COMMITTEE MEETING.  Report of meeting.

15      COUNCILLOR or CLERK REPORTS ON LOCAL ISSUES.  To bring any items to the         notice of the Council, or reports on training or meetings attended.

16     ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDAS.  Cllrs opportunity to request items for next Agenda
